Summary
Under limited supervision, installs, maintains, tests, and repairs systems and networks. Utilizes advanced technical knowledge to plan and lead the implementation of technical solutions. Provides technical leadership and support and resolves problems of a comprehensive and complex nature. Assists users/departments in formulating requests or proposals and in determining information system needs assessments. Provides leadership and guidance to, and may supervise, other staff.

- Maintains and manages on-premises and cloud-based systems, networks, and/or databases independently.
- Design architectures within Microsoft Azure to meet the companies technical, security, and business needs.
- Responsible for critical and high impact services
- Responsible for resolution of high and low impact or urgency problem and incident management issues.
- Reviews work of junior staff to ensure that services requests are correctly and effectively performed.
- Accountable for the performance of on-premises and cloud-based systems, networks, and/or databases.
- Performs routine, complex, and emergency systems, networks, and/or database administration tasks to ensure and maximize service availability.
- Participate in and occasionally lead project teams to develop and implement new systems, networks, and/or databases
- Participate in and occasionally lead projects, including planning, managing resources, and delivering final products
- Responsible for overall work efforts in the development and implementation of new systems, networks, and/or databases
- Research and trains on new systems, networks, and/or database
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
- Follows and creates documentation (e.g., instructions, configurations, best practices, service information)
- Maintains a current level of knowledge for all technologies (e.g., by reading, attending conferences, training, professional communication/networking)
- Actively engages and promotes new technologies (e.g., through networking, presenting at conferences, providing training)
- Possesses expert domain knowledge in service area and knowledge of many related areas
- Performs other related duties as required
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
4 years’ experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Hardware
- Practical knowledge of internal components of workstations and servers
- Networking components
- Peripheral devices (Printers, Scanners, etc.)
Software
- Thorough understanding of Virtualization technologies (VMWare)
- Strong Knowledge of Server Applications (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, etc.) Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of all current Windows Operating systems
- Knowledge of Router and Switch operations
- Knowledge of major software suites (IE Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of Web Browsers, Email Clients, and other commonly used software
Required qualifications
- AD, DNS, Group Policy
- TCP/IP Networking, Firewalls, VPN’s
- RMM tools (N-Central, Kaseya, Labtech, AutoTask
- Patch Management
- Experience creating secure cloud-based infrastructures (2 years’ experience)
- Comfortable presenting to small working groups
- Azure networking, firewalls, and various storage solutions. (2 years’ experience)
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required
- Knowledge of current technological developments/trends.
- Records maintenance skills.
- Ability to provide leadership and functional direction to other technical support staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
- Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware, software, and/or network solutions.
- Ability to analyze and resolve moderately complex computer and network problems.
- Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems
