House-Hasson Hardware, a 117 year-old wholesale distributor, is currently looking for a Senior Product Manager to work in our Knoxville, TN office.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for: managing the relationship with our vendors and our warehouse product mix; having financial accountability for assigned categories of strategic importance; working cross-functionally with the marketing and sales departments; overseeing the integration of the core merchandising strategies and optimization of product assortments. Five years of experience in category management and vendor negotiations desired, preferably with a two step distributor.

Other duties and responsibilities include:

· Managing and maintaining the Sales and Gross Margin for House Hasson to ensure Revenue goals are met

· Reviewing aged inventory reports and working with Product Buyers to dispose of overstocked merchandise. Working with vendors, sales department and/or dealers to reduce excess inventory and eliminate close out inventory from warehouse

· Understanding key business drivers, competitive landscape and retailer segmentation for assigned categories

· Identifying and loading items into appropriate contracts to support monthly specials and buying market promotions.

· Reviewing products to ensure accuracy and integrity of information provided internally and as presented to our retailers in our print catalog and Etoolbox.

· Managing and maintaining Fineline Index for assigned categories.

· Reviewing and maintaining products by analyzing historical sales, current market trends, competitive information and retailer input within the assortments while communicating changes to sales, marketing and customer service promptly.

· Building and developing good working relationships with vendors and defining key vendor partners.

· Defining schedule and managing vendor and product assortment planning including line reviews.

· Negotiating pricing and programs with vendors.

· Supporting advertising / promotion strategy by negotiating special pricing for the products selected.

· Working with vendors regarding show attendance and the negotiation of show specials, special circular pricing and dating terms.

· Maintaining computer data on-line via the Vendor Portal, R6, AS/400 and Etoolbox: ensuring correct item descriptions, pricing, packs, weights, retails, gross margins, vendor and SKU.

· Answering dealer phone calls and following up in a timely manner. Researching requests for product, vendor numbers, catalogues, and price checks. Resolving dealer and vendor concerns.

· Providing direction to marketing on retail pricing & 3-tier pricing.

· Managing new item setups.

· Other Duties as assigned.

House-Hasson Hardware serves the continental U.S. as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Belize and the Caribbean.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
