We are currently recruiting a Safety Specialist for an industry-leading specialty manufacturer. This is a direct hire, permanent role located in Voorhees, NJ. This is a role requiring from 2 to 6 years experience and the salary is reflective of that. At this time, the client is considering local candidates within 50 miles of the location only . There is no relocation assistance.

In this role, you will report directly to the Health and Safety Manager and play a key role in maintaining a safe workplace by ensuring that all regulations are in compliance. You will also support the plant's environmental program and implement environmental and safety policies and programs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support plant safety culture and health and safety initiatives.
• Develop and administer training, such as new employee orientation.
• Lead efforts to create employee-led safety teams and initiatives.
• Play an active role on the plant's Safety Committees.
• Use case management skills for injuries, to track trends, and adopt corrective actions in order to prevent injuries and minimize employees' time away from work. Ensure all process additions and changes comply with company Health and Safety Standards.
• Ensure Health and Safety metrics and reports are completed in a timely manner. Familiar with workman's compensation protocol.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or a minimum of 4 years of health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid knowledge of regulatory standards; possesses the ability to work with outside regulatory agencies.
• Working knowledge of behavior based safety: root cause analysis, audit process, general principals, etc.
• Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement experience and knowledge.
• Ability to lead teams and to develop health and safety training.
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
