POSITION SUMMARY:
The MACT Director of Quality Assurance ensures that all health services for MACT Health Board, Inc. meet or exceed local, state, and federal requirements/standards, as well as the requirements/standards for compliance with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
Incumbent ensures that all policies and procedures related to quality assurance are maintained and updated, as needed using guidance provided by AAAHC. Provides guidance and assists service departments to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies. Facilitates the development and maintenance of an organization-wide Continuous Quality Improvement Program. Serves as chairperson of the Quality Improvement Committee.
The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that all MACT Departments have established and are maintaining/updating policies and procedures annually, meeting or exceeding all regulatory agency standards/requirements.
- Collaborates with all departments to review standards following accreditation requirements to ensure quality improvement techniques meet or exceed AAAHC standards and other regulatory agencies having an impact on accreditation.
- Supervises the Health Information Technologists (Medical Records) and Compliance Associate.
- Provides support and assistance to all MACT departments in prioritizing and developing goals/objectives for department quality improvement projects.
- Reviews and analyzes Compliance Associate work tracking and coordinating responses to patient suggestions for improvements and complaints, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Responds to requests from the Board of Directors on Quality Assurance issues.
- Audits departmental training with respect to Quality Assurance issues, ensuring clear and open communication on policies and procedures, issues and other quality indicators related to improvement/accreditation standards.
- Submits monthly board reports as requested.
- Acts as an administrative partner to the Medical Director.
- Ensures communication between the clinics, the Medical Director, Executive Director, and Board of Directors
- Comply with MACT policy and procedure at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse preferred, Master’s Degree in nursing desired.
- Bachelor Degree in Health Care Management or Business Administration may be substituted with 5 years practical QA experience.
- A thorough understanding of State and Federal regulations related to health care compliance, as well as AAAHC.
- Ability to network and foster relationships with appropriate government agencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to facilitate group processes leading outcomes to a common goal.
- Knowledge and experience in public speaking to small and large groups.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Knowledge in management information systems (MIS) and Electronic Health Records.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass Occupational Health Screening.- Possesses a valid form of identification as listed on the U. S. Department of Justice I-9 form and processed/authorized using E Verify.
- Must adhere to the MACT Health Board, Inc. Corporate Code of Conduct.
- Valid CA Driver’s license and automobile insurance.
