Critical Care and Pulmonary Consultants P.C. is an independent group of physicians. Our practice was established in 1996 and consists of hospitalists, intensivists, pulmonologists, and sleep disorder specialists.

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable Medical Assistant to join our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical practice running smoothly. The right person will have a positive "can do" attitude with demonstrated care and concern for patient care. Our clinics are in Aurora and Thornton, and our primary location is Greenwood Village.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Greet patients, collect documentation, collect copay and balances, and update records.

· Answer and return phone calls from medical providers and patients promptly.

· Read patient records and update information in the electronic medical records.

· Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vitals, medical history, and other relative details.

· Instruct patients about their medications and how to administer them safely and appropriately.

· Provide patient education and instruction for testing, medications, and procedures.

· Process patient dictations, orders, and prescriptions for continued patient care.

· Obtain insurance authorizations for medications, procedures, and testing.

· Schedule testing, procedures, and appointments as necessary.

· Maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment.

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

· Medical terminology is required.

· Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.

· Prior experience administering injections.

· Prior experience obtaining vital signs, medication reconciliation, and updating medical records is preferred.

· Experience with EKG/Spirometry and Alpha 1 testing

· Send Orders for various testing and procedures

· Stock & clean exam rooms

· Special projects assigned by management

· The ability to demonstrate empathy towards patients is required.

· Excellent time management skills are required.

· Attention to detail and critical thinking skills are required.

· The ability to communicate verbally, non-verbally, and in writing with medical staff and patients is required.

· Appearance must be professional, clean, and appropriate for a medical office.

· Computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge are required.

· Ability to import/export and/or upload document files into electronic medical records is required.

· Demonstrated ability to comply with HIPAA regulations and protect patient privacy is required.

· The right person will demonstrate a professional and caring bedside manner.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a Medical Assistant position.
  • Experience and knowledge of health insurance and eligibility are preferred.
  • Medical experience & scheduling background preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Microsoft Office experience is required.
  • Bilingual is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.50 per hour
