Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, Algonkian District Leesburg, VA 20175
Algonkian District Supervisor, Juli Briskman, is hiring a legislative aide (LA) to assist in the day-to-day operations and strategy of the district office. The LA works with the Chief of Staff to be a front-line contact to constituents, county agencies, and any other outside entities. The LA will lead efforts to research and review legislation coming before the Board of Supervisors. The LA will staff the supervisor at meetings, such as Public Hearing, Finance Committee and Board Business meetings. The LA will staff the supervisor at outside events and regional meetings as needed and manage external social media channels and electronic newsletter distribution. The LA will have a working relationship with counterparts in other district offices and county staff.
Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration or similar field preferred and a minimum of two years’ experience with an elected official’s office, government agency, legislative policy, or other relevant experience. They will be comfortable working in a high-pressure and fast paced environment and engaging with diverse people and views as this is often a public facing role.
Salary range is $60,000+ commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week position that is secure through December 31, 2023. Extension to 2024 is contingent on election.
