Key responsibilities & expectations:
- Design and develop new features and improvements to our platform and product.
- Maintain and improve existing features and tests over time.
- Collaborate with other team members.
- Write readable, maintainable, and well tested code.
- Optimize code for speed and scale.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of designs made by teammates, either in design or code reviews.
- Demonstrate a continuous desire to refine your craft and learn from mistakes.
- Motivated by writing software that provides value to users.
- An interest for staying plugged into the technology community (attending conferences, meetups, blog posts, open-source projects, etc.)
Required skills & experience:
- B.S. in computer science or related field.
- 2 to 5 years Java development.
- Demonstrate ability to write readable and maintainable Java code with past projects.
- Demonstrate understanding of computer science fundamentals (datastructures, algorithms, etc.)
- Ability to review unfamiliar Java code, recognize problems, and suggest solutions.
- Demonstrates a strong command of the tools and technologies used on past projects.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience with Typescript / JavaScript.
- Demonstrated experience with Angular or similar modern web development framework
Bonus Skills & Experience:
- Experience with enterprise back-end libraries and frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, REST, Maven)
- Experience with cloud technologies (Kafka, gRPC, Protobuf, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, Cassandra, Elastic, Databricks)
- Experience working with software development best practices including Agile, CI/CD, and Lean.
