Front of House/Assistant General Manager

Job Summary

A private boating club located on a lake in the Central Ohio area seeks a Front of House/Asst. General Manager to direct the operations of the club. The club has over 100 years of history and tradition with a healthy mix of new and long-time members. We are looking for an energetic, self-starter to bring a professional management style to the club and be rewarded accordingly. Your responsibilities will include hiring and managing, bar, waitstaff and other employees, training new employees, managing inventories, budgeting expenses, coordinating private parties and events and fostering an exceptional member service environment. The Front of House/Asst. General Manager will report directly to a member of the Board and Club General Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

Bring an innovative spirit to events, and service to increase member use of the club

Follow all policies and procedures for accounting and cash controls established by the Board

Expect to be held accountable for the budgetary control and profitability of the areas assigned

Ensure waitstaff comply with all health regulations and maintain certifications

Delegate responsibilities and tasks

Maintain top quality assurance and high member service standards

Focus on member satisfaction, retention and assist the Board with new member growth

Work closely with the Board member assigned the oversight role for the bar, dining room and Clubhouse Effectively lead daily shifts

Ensure guest satisfaction by responding immediately to any needs

Uphold brand standards and best practices

Responsible for managing controllable expenses

Positive attitude and the ability to lead a large team

Qualifications and Skills

6+ years’ experience with a private club or full-service restaurant, including bar service

2+ years’ experience in a leadership position in a restaurant setting

Current ServSafe certification

Advanced understanding of a full-service restaurant and Club operation

Ability to coach, train and motivate employees

Comfortable working in a private club environment

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
