Remote Area Medical: Volunteer Coordinator Job Description
The Volunteer Coordinator position is based out of Rockford, Tennessee. The Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Volunteer Coordinator and serves on the Operations Team. This position evaluates and coordinates volunteers based on effective volunteer systems thereby enabling the smooth execution of RAM’s general business operations. This position is also responsible for the following:
Primary Responsibilities
· Monitoring registration status of specific volunteers and determining which volunteer personnel should be promoted into positions of greater responsibility.
· Assessing volunteer personnel structure and determining necessary positions for particular clinics; eliminating unnecessary positions.
· Working with the director of the clinic with recruiting, mobilizing, and enlisting volunteers for clinic events; includes analyzing suitability and placement for both new and returning volunteers.
· Facilitating student group volunteers in accordance with RAM’s volunteer policies.
· Communicating necessary clinic information such as lodging, food, hospitality, schedule, travel and any other logistic items to volunteers prior to clinic events to ensure safe and efficient volunteer participation which is a critical element of RAM’s general business operation.
· Supervising volunteer registration on site to carry out volunteer assignments as determined necessary by Volunteer Coordinators. Other service at clinic events as necessary.
· Building and maintaining healthy strategic relationships with direct supervisor and personnel within RAM and carrying out tasks as directed by Volunteer Manager.
· Building and maintaining healthy strategic relationships with volunteers and partners outside RAM that would benefit the department and organizational objectives. Seeking out and evaluating potential individuals and organization to determine suitability for service as volunteers and partners with the organization in order to further the organization’s operations.
· Creatively acknowledging and recognizing volunteer involvement to spur further involvement.
Additional Responsibilities
· Providing updated information on clinics for all on and off line communication such as websites.
· Preparing volunteer reports and check professional licensure for volunteers. Reporting violations to Volunteer Manager.
· Fulfill requests by pharmacies about prescribing practitioners.
Job Requirements
- Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Frequent out of town overnight travel is required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 20lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive RAM vehicles
- Must be proficient in verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 per year
