U.S. Data Science Leader Job at WTW
Willis Towers Watson is a market leader in insurance analytics with decades of experience of transforming data into business value for our clients. We continually invest in the development of our software and broader consulting propositions and are now looking for a Director to join our existing analytics technology & regional consulting leadership teams.
The Role
The role will be instrumental in driving the development in the area of data science and advanced analytics. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the advancement of our data science capability and propositions, working in close collaboration with other Regional Data Science Leaders and the Global Proposition Leader to help form our global and regional approaches, building on top of our market-leading analytics and data science software products, Emblem and Radar.
In addition, the role will be the lead for regional activity relating to data science related prospecting and client engagement, working in close collaboration with regional sales teams to ensure the successful creation and execution of the DS value proposition.
Responsibilities
- The role will cover both consulting and software activity
- They will lead a regional consulting team to develop integrated consulting and technology solutions for our clients in line with our global vision
- Specific focus of software activity will be to apply a regional lens to global software development
- The successful candidate will combine extensive knowledge of regional data science market practice in an insurance context, and a proven ability to innovate to build robust analytics processes that deliver insights to decision makers at the point of decision making
- They will be an advocate for our overall business, presenting at market events, to clients and to our colleagues globally
Requirements
- Have many years of experience of:
- Leading non-life insurance data science teams either in house or at a consultancy
- Experience of developing, implementing data strategies for insurance companies
- Designing, building, testing and running data science processes for insurance companies
- Specification/design of data science technology infrastructures for insurance companies’ analytical and operational functions
- Awareness of main data enrichment sources and open source data assets most valuable to insurance companies
- Awareness of Insurtech activities in this space
- Engaging with different stakeholders to interpret the results and use them in decision making processes
- Demonstrate the capability for original thought and innovation
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver complex and multi-stakeholder projects from first idea through to completion and implementation
- Demonstrate the ability to manage conflict and challenging relationships
- Demonstrate strategic vision
- Be able to map their high-level vision to detailed requirements to support product development
- Demonstrate a strong history of delivery
- Be able to learn quickly
- Be collaborative and good at working with multiple stakeholders
- Remain client focused
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $200,000 - $265,000. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
