Transportation Coordinator Job at Responsive Deployment

JOB SUMMARY:
The Transportation Coordinator is part of a national team responsible for the coordination of air, ground and maritime travel for unaccompanied minors ages 0-17 within a city, state, or nationally. Coordination of travel includes the use of commercial, private charters, or project vehicles. The Transportation Coordinator directly supervises Transportation Specialists and Drivers. Some unaccompanied minors may require specialized supervision and care therefore coordination with emergency medical/mental health providers may be required. Coordination of mass transportation services will be needed during influx situations or other unexpected emergencies (such as inclement weather or illness). May be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays. On-call rotation is required. Will be assigned to work out of one of the national Transportation HUBs that are strategically located within the U.S. (El Paso, TX; Pecos, TX; Brownsville, TX; Greensboro, NC, and Phoenix, AZ). The Transportation Coordinator must strictly enforce and adhere to the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s (ORR) Zero Tolerance Policy to prevent the abuse and neglect of unaccompanied minors and adhere to all relevant ORR policies and procedures always ensuring the personal safety of the children and youth being served.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:
- Clear MVR Check.
- Clear criminal background checks (including HSPD-12 PIV Credential Tier 2).
- Clear drug/alcohol testing results.
- Clear Tuberculosis results.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, transportation planning, or other related field with 2 years of experience working in the transportation industry preferred. Internship and volunteer hours may be included, or
- High School Diploma or GED required with 3 years’ experience in the transportation industry or related field coordinating transportation services and/or 3 years in a supervisory position working in a shelter setting.
- Proven experience in a leadership position preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Must have a flexible work schedule.
- Excellent Driving Record with a clear MVR required.
- Experience driving 5 or more years preferred.
- Clear criminal background check (including HSPD-12 PIV Credential Tier 2).
- Clear drug/alcohol testing results.
- Clear Tuberculosis results.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English language is required.
- Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish is preferred, other languages may be considered depending on program needs.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
