Hours: Typical 40-hour work week, with flexibility required to support/maintain 24x7x365 operations.

Job Description
Employee will be an integral part of the Systems Engineering team, supporting a high-volume geographically diverse healthcare organization. Expectations include participating in long range planning/design, performing day-to-day operations, authoring architectural and process documentation, responding to escalations and ensuring the direction and vision of the systems infrastructure meets the organization’s goals. Ideal candidate will have a team-based attitude and the ability/desire to see what needs to be done and get it done.
Qualified systems engineers will have an established, progressive background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and operations.
Primary Job Duties
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Create and maintain documentation of processes, procedures, and logical/physical diagrams
- Participate in rotating on call schedule for after-hours support
- Administration/configuration of VMware, Microsoft Windows Servers, application-specific configuration/administration.
- Responsible for the integration and management of systems implementation activities
- Manage, configure, and maintain server devices including physical and virtual hosts.
- Continually evolve all systems to support the latest security best practices.
- Manage and maintain system architecture and process documentation.
- Maintain hybrid on-premise Active Directory/Azure Active Directory.
- Maintain data backups, consistent with RPO/RTO/Retention objectives.
- Deploy and maintain network, systems, and security monitoring tools (I.E. NMS, syslog)
- Development of scripting, GPO, and PowerShell tools to automate processes and procedures.
- Development, adherence, and evolution of compliance/regulatory-based policies, processes, and procedures.
Secondary Job Duties
- Train, mentor and manage team members through knowledge sharing.
- Briefing status of open high visibility and impacting outages daily.
- Server patching to remain secured and compliant.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Administrative tasks, including on/off boarding, asset management, license compliance, etc.
Education and Experience
Required
- Initiative, eagerness to learn, problem solving, and team focus are critical, valued and the most important aspect of this role.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant on-the-job experience supporting mid ( > 250 servers) to large enterprise, SaaS or service provider environments.
- Available for after-hours escalations and project work supporting 24x7x365 operations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information, policies and procedures as required by HIPAA and/or company policy.
Your skills, technologies and experience need to include:
- Understanding of troubleshooting techniques for server, storage, network, applications, and security issues.
- Advanced level configuration/administration/maintenance/patching Microsoft Windows Server (all versions) and MS O365
- Advanced level skills with Vmware – including host ESXi build, Vmotion, Site Recovery Manager, clones, P2V
- Mid to advanced level skills with hybrid on premise / Azure Active Directory
Preferred skills
- Mid to advanced level skills with Microsoft Teams
- Mid to advanced level skills with MS Teams Voice
- Mid to advanced level skills with Microsoft RDS
- Mid to advanced level skills with Powershell or equivalent technology
- Mid to advanced level skills with Veeam backup
- Mid to advanced level skills in remote printer management
- In-depth experience with complex migrations, upgrades of legacy applications
- Strong security-focused background in securing organizations while allowing growth
- Architecture and systems design
Travel: Occasional overnight travel may be required, up to 25%.
- This position is eligible for teleworking for most scenarios. In the event work must be performed on-premises, you may be required to commute to the office with little to no-notice. Telework is a privilege and can be suspended or revoked by management’s sole discretion.
