Overview and Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for management of the supply chain group in support of fiber optic cable production and finished goods transportation to customers.
  • Oversee activities of the various teams, which includes planning & scheduling, raw material supply, optical fiber supply, and the distribution center.
  • Reviewing and updating supply chain practices in line with company policies and standards.
  • Work with third-party logistics suppliers and freight companies, monitoring and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices.
  • Analyzing the supply chain data and solving any issues or putting alternative plans in place.
  • Participate in the SOIP (sales, inventory & operations planning) review cycle to ensure proper goals are established each month.
  • Managing inventory levels in accordance with appropriate targets, to include VMI programs.
  • Developing safety guidelines, teaching, and enforcing the protocols.
  • Supervising and training employees.
  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams.
  • Determine key supply chain KPIs - on-time shipment, inventory levels, DIO, production volume (fkm & ckm).
  • Suggest solutions for process improvements.
  • Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Train and evaluate others.
  • Provide constructive feedback.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with vendors.
  • Member of the operations staff, responsible to routinely report on department KPIs along with appropriate analysis and countermeasures where necessary.
  • Supports proper utilization of ERP system (SAP).

Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of supply chain, warehousing, materials supply, and/or distribution - required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline with at least 5 years of progressive production / materials planning in a managerial role (Materials, Shop floor, etc.).
  • Experience with ERP systems preferably SAP System or similar – required.
  • Experience with SAP Cable Solutions wire and cable industry module a definite plus.
  • Materials planning and scheduling experience, preferably in cable/tubing manufacturing environment.
  • APICS and Six Sigma Certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient / Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines daily with limited supervision.
