Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting the CFO, Controller, and Senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data top compile and keep financial records using journals and ledgers or computers
  • Code documents according to company procedures
  • Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts
  • Operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence
  • Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers
  • Match statements with ACH deposits and reconciled commission reports and record the necessary information

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience.

  • Fast paced multi-tasking environment
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
