Opportunity:
The Senior Product Manager at Classmates will lead the Product strategy at Classmates, defining, building, and optimizing innovative products that delight our customers. Balancing strategic business goals with customer needs and market opportunities, this role will drive growth and continued improvement in our core features, as well as brand new product innovation. By conceptualizing product initiatives and leading development teams to bring those concepts to life, you will make Classmates & PeopleConnect the most trusted place to learn about people.
The Senior Product Manager will lead the product management team at the forefront of product discovery, justification and delivery. You will develop specifications and project documentation to guide implementation, working with reporting and finance teams to build financial models for new features. You will work cross functionally to determine the best products to deliver on our goals and strategies, then collaborate with design and development teams to launch those initiatives for our consumers.
Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy
- Product vision and road mapping: Define an overall vision for the Classmates product. Create clear product roadmaps of prioritized features and initiatives that work toward that broader vision.
- Strategic impact: Key contributor to the business strategy for the company overall, and owner for the Product team.
- Data & Results: Own our Product KPIs and P&L. Work closely with our forecasting team to track performance vs goals, reporting regularly on results. Maintain a culture of data obsession, ensuring all decisions are data backed and products have clearly defined and measurable measures of success.
- Customer Insight
- Voice of the Customer: You are obsessed with understanding customer needs and pain points. Leverage user feedback in all forms, including surveys, web analytics, and talking to customers.
- UX Design & Testing: You have a deep understanding of UX design.
- Execution
- Quality: Gather requirements, define functionality, outline clear and actionable goals.
- Delivery: Work closely with the entire team, engineers, design, & BA to execute specs into successful products.
- Follow up: Prioritize and resolve technical & functional issues as well as optimize for maximum impact using continued analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
- Influence
- Stakeholder management: Identify all stakeholders & manage the inclusion of their feedback into key product decisions.
- Evangelize: Whether it is Sr Executives, Product teams, or the whole Company, you thrive in communicating Product Vision across the org. You are strong in persuasion, using data to support your proposals & decisions.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years product management or equivalent experience in providing consumer-facing digital products at scale
- Demonstrated experience growing user engagement with existing features and building new feature ideas from the ground up
- Ability to self-manage projects and work within time deadlines
- Experience creating lo-fi prototypes to share with users in a fast, iterative manner
- Experience in an Agile and/or Lean development environment, ability to break work down into minimal marketable features
- Strong written and verbal communication, business analysis and planning skills, with strong attention to detail
- Able to develop and create products that meet the highest standards of design and usability
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Education/Qualifications:
- Excel – formulas, graphs, high level modeling and reporting
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS a plus
- Knowledge of online coding languages, such as HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, Ajax, etc. a plus
- BS/BA or equivalent, MBA a plus
Salary Range: $130-$150k
