Vagabond is looking for a part time Food Runner / Cashier to join our team providing excellent service to customers. If you’d like to gain experience in the restaurant industry and learn how to provide an excellent dining experience, we’d like to meet you. To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner. Important: We are here to serve. We're looking for fun loving, happy spirited people who want to work in a service environment. Taking care of customers should be the primary focus.

Payroll is weekly, and will include $11 / hour plus tips (averages $25-$40 per hour). Training will be paid, but without tip share, and last about one week. Schedule is flexible, and will range from 12-24 hours depending on availability. Must be 18+ as we serve beer and wine, and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately
• Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
• Communicate food orders to kitchen, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
• Take in person and telephone orders, entering them into our Toast POS system
• Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards per Health Dept Guidelines
• Check in with customers and assist with their needs, keeping them happy
• Clean tables when guests leave
• Keep dining area clean and inviting
• Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
• Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests

Skills

• Experience in front of house restaurant work
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
• Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
• Availability to work various shifts, including weekends
• Multi-tasking abilities
• Good oral communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
