The Opportunity:
NCC Group is always looking for amazing people to join our team. Transport Security Consultants work with our transport industry clients to evaluate product security, define and review security requirements, and provide strategic recommendations for improving the security posture of products. Our team works on a wide variety of targets including web and mobile applications and hardware products.
Transport Security Consultants also work internally with the Transport Security Team to perform research, write and deliver publications, and assist in technical sales.
The Challenge:
As a Transport Security Consultant, you will be focused on delivering security consulting services to clients and assisting in growing the transportation practice through research and business development.
- For transport sector clients, you will:
- Act as technical leadership for transportation sector projects
- Perform threat modelling of target systems
- Define specific testing plans for target systems
- Perform application, network, and architecture reviews as needed
- Perform source code audits and binary reverse engineering as needed
- Perform device teardowns, hardware analysis, protocol analysis, and other hardware attacks as needed
- Work with the delivery team to document findings, provide recommendations, and deliver documentation to clients
- Lead presentation of project results to clients
- Work with clients to determine project scope and timelines
- Internal to the Transport Practice, you will:
- Provide technical sales support to industry-specific clients
- Define and execute relevant research projects
- Create whitepapers, blog posts, and/or conference talks based on research outcomes
- Other tasks, as directed by supervisor, may include:
- Assisting in service development by providing technical expertise
- Creating/maintaining internal tooling, such as scripts and lab equipment, to assist with analysis activities
- Training other consultants and staying up-to-date on current events in the industry
- Collaborating with global teams to improve capabilities
Essential Skills:

Desired Candidate Attributes/Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in technical consulting
- 3+ years of experience in security testing and/or development of one of:
- hardware, embedded systems, IoT devices, etc... or
- web applications, network applications, mobile applications, etc...
- Experience with leading delivery of technical projects
- Previous experience in a transportation vertical (e.g., automotive, rail, aerospace, etc...)
- Programming skills for tool development and source code review
- Experience with binary reverse engineering and/or debugging
- Experience interacting with clients (e.g., leading client calls, presenting results to clients, etc...)
- Experience presenting research as conference talks and/or papers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related area of study, or equivalent experience
