Security Shift Leader

Security Team Leader
POSITION SUMMARY
The Security Shift Lead directly supervises shift Security Officers and operations under the direction of the Security Team Lead. Responsible for assigning specified work, giving work directions, and monitoring scheduling for adequate shift coverage. This position maintains knowledge and monitors compliance with all security posts/operations and through leadership and example encourages the highest level of security/customer service performance by Shift Officers. In addition, this position will be required to respond to potentially dangerous situations, utilizing appropriate threat level responses up to and including armed response while following in established policies. This position also performs all other responsibilities as directed or assigned by security management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee aspects of the security function on-site are performed in a diligent manner (access control, badging, key control, CCTV, staffing levels, post orders, patrols, daily activity reports, incidents, emergency response)
- Assist in the ongoing training and development of security officers and conducts on-post training for new hire officers
- Complete Critical Task evaluations
- Assist with security officer scheduling to maintain appropriate operational staffing levels
- Report to and assist the Security Team Lead in matters concerning shift operations
- Ensure weekly/monthly tasks are completed and documented
- Continuously participate in performance of post duties (cover post breaks, assist where needed)
- Complete mid-year and end-year evaluations of officers work performance
- Provide superior customer service and maintain the highest standards of professionalism
- Coordinates emergency response with EMS/LE and responds to emergency situations using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established policies
SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- State Certified Peace Officer Training preferred
Experience
- Documented work history of progressively responsible experience in management/leadership role
- Prior armed security/Law enforcement experience
Other
- Possess strong leadership experience or potential
- Strong customer service skills
- Detail oriented, takes initiative, and is adaptable to dynamic situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability organize and manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem solving and writing skills
- Working knowledge of PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Must be able to obtain a Concealed Carry Weapons permit
- Ability to qualify with a duty firearm
