We are seeking an experienced cellular and molecular biologist to join the Immunology team at Kymera Therapeutics. A successful candidate will support pipeline projects and new target identification/validation by developing cellular assays for hit validation and lead optimization and conduct molecular and cellular experiments for elucidating mechanism of action and biomarkers of response. The candidate will be expected to generate high quality data and analyze and communicate the results to project team members. The candidate will also manage assays and projects at CROs for lead discovery and optimization.

Kymera is rapidly advancing four clinical stage programs in oncology and immunology, and is positioned to deliver one additional Investigational New Drug Applications (IND) annually. We are also actively advancing a broad pipeline of preclinical programs where TPD has the potential to provide a best-in-class approach, both internally and in collaboration with our partners Sanofi and Vertex Pharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute cell based and cell free assays to support lead discovery and optimization of pipeline projects.
• Design and execute cell based and cell free assays to drive biology for target identification and validation.
• Manage assays and projects at CROs, coordinate compounds and sample shipment and testing, QC externally generated data, and upload data to database in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other functions and communicate research findings in cross-functional project team meetings.
• Maintain good records of laboratory procedures

Qualifications:

• PhD in cellular and molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology or other related field with up to 4+ years of industry or academic post PhD experience. Non-PhD candidates with extensive industry drug discovery experience will also be considered.
• Deep understanding of signal transduction and molecular mechanisms that lead to activation and inactivation of signaling pathways in cells.
• Extensive experience with standard molecular biology techniques, including DNA constructs design, transfection with DNA constructs and transduction with viral expression systems, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, MSD, Elisa etc.
• Extensive tissue culture experience with immortalized cell lines and primary cells. Experience with primary immune cell subset isolation, differentiation and functional assays a strong plus.
• Independently analyze and interpret experimental data with attention to detail in recording experimental data
• Willing to learn and capable of learning new areas as needed by project goals
• Understand the urgency to deliver and adapt to the fast pace at Kymera
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with collaborative mindset
