QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate shall possess a Masters Degree in School Psychology with aMassachusetts Educators License (School Psychologist, all levels) required.A valid license issued by Massachusetts Board of Registration of Psychologists is also required.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Assess psychological and educational needs of referred students and consult with appropriate persons regarding results and implications. 2.Prepare assessment reports and other administrative documents as necessary; assist in interpretation of criteria for determination of eligibility. 3.Provide interventions to students to support the teaching process and to maximize learning and adjustment.4.Provide consultation to parents, teachers, and other school personnel, and community agencies when necessary to enhance the learning and adjustment of students.5. Assist with the development and provision of in-service programs on child development, special education and related areas.
6.Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, and disciplinary review meetings. Design and implement behavior intervention plans as necessary.7.Consult and/or counsel with students, school staff, and parents regarding academic and/or personal/social needs.8.Provide information regarding community services available to students; make appropriate referrals regarding vocational needs of students.9.Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information, while maintaining the safety and welfare for all students and staff members.10. Follow federal, state, and local laws, regulation, and policies regarding childrens educational welfare; report any pertinent information to the proper authorities in cases of child endangerment, neglect and abuse.11. Maintain licensure at the state and/or national level; assume responsibility for professional growth and keep materials, supplies, and skills up-to-date.12.
Maintain accurate records of all psychological services provided; maintain clearly written and comprehensive reports and data which provide practical recommendations.13. Respond to crisis situations in tandem with colleagues and community personnel.14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Principal, or Director of Pupil Personnel in accordance with school policies and practices.SALARY AND WORKING CONDITIONS10-Month PositionSalary range: According to Teacher Salary Schedule
