Safety Manager – Petroleum Industry

Come work for a growing petroleum carrier, we operate across several states, making deliveries in DE, DC, MD and VA. Our drivers are home daily and work local.

The ideal candidate would be a seasoned professional with a background in the fuel/petroleum industry; would live in any of the States listed and be willing to travel as needed to any of our locations.

This position is responsible for the on-going safety training for all the employees in the organization. The Safety Manager works across all areas and groups in the organization.

Job Duties include, but not limited to the following:

• On Call 24/7 responsibility.
• Develop & train all employees on safety program topics including DOT.
• Participate in hiring process.
• Stay current on changing rules and regulations to industry to include DOT, and OSHA.
• Address safety concerns of customers and general public.
• Lead - Emergency response & accident / incident investigation.
• Manage workers compensation claims
• Communicate and develop, revise training programs for employees on safety procedures.
• Ensure company is operating within Federal, State and Local compliance.
• Review work areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Reviews drivers’ performance and understanding of procedures.
• Provides guidance to Terminal Managers on issues related to safety and safe operations.
• Assist General Manager in carrying out organizational goals.
• Hold monthly safety meetings at each location for all employees.
• Weekly travel to various locations as needed.
