Organization Overview:

Persad Center provides a diverse range of mental health, behavioral health, substance abuse support, education and family support services to LGBTQA+ individuals, families and people living with HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1972, Persad is the second oldest LGBTQ+ mental health organization of its kind in the U.S.

Scope of Work:

Our clinical therapists are the lifeblood of our organization, providing life saving, critical support to our clients.

Persad's main office is based in Pittsburgh, for individuals living outside of Alleghany county, this is a remote telehealth position. There may be occasional training or meeting requirements to come into the office but these will have notice for planning.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Initial and ongoing assessment of each client to determine the most effective and useful psychotherapeutic treatment.
  • Providing individual, couple and group therapy.
  • Maintaining proper and timely clinical documentation.
  • Participating in regular supervision both individually and group.
  • Coordinating with fellow therapists and team members to provide the highest quality care.
  • Providing educational programs as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • LPC or LCSW Required
  • Masters Degree in social work/counseling, from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Passionate about providing consistently high-quality mental health care to the LGBTQA+ and HIV/AIDS communities including people from a wide range of socio-economic, religious and racial backgrounds.
  • Experience working with LGBTQA+ people including an understanding of WPATH (World Professional Association of Transgender Health) standards of care for transgender as well as non-binary individuals.
  • Ability to be coachable and aware of internal-bias and how it can affect clinical care.
  • Current counseling experience working towards LCSW or LPC licensure preferred.
  • Appropriate FBI, PA Act 33/34 fingerprint clearances.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record systems.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
