The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care for all patients on the Child, Adolescent, Stabilization and Adult Units. The Registered Nurse is in charge of the unit activities for each shift. The Registered Nurse supervises the Mental Health Technicians working on the unit, provides report on all patient and unit concerns to oncoming shifts and to leadership during rounds, administers prescribed medications as ordered, performs patient assessments, ensures physician orders are carried out, responds to psychiatric and medical emergencies, initiates physical holds or mechanical restraints for patients at high risk for harm to self or others as needed, engages with patients throughout the shift, and provides patient education. The Registered Nurse is accountable for working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team and for promoting effective milieu management on the unit. The Registered nurse follows all facility approved policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Valid PA nursing license
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
• Leadership, teaching, customer service, and management skills

• Ability to work in a team setting with diverse populations
• Responsible and compassionate
• Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
