The role

The Regional Security Manager has regional accountability for developing and directing the organization security programs in Mexico and the United States through the direction of the Senior Director – Global Security. Under demanding conditions and often ambiguous environments. This position requires unique skills and experiences enabling issues to be addressed professionally during potentially volatile and difficult situations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This position leads regional investigations of potential corporate violations, reported, and suspected through strategy, deployment, and execution of investigations.
  • Directs, coordinates, and implements regional site security, operations, and activities to ensure the protection of executives, managers, employees, physical security, and information.
  • Conducts risk assessments and, emergency planning while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.
  • Provides leadership direction to the management and professional staff within the region’s organizational unit.
  • Assists in the oversight and management of the Code of Conduct system, then jointly addresses issues with the Sr. Director of Global Security. Provides regular reporting to the Sr. Director Global Security on cases and compliance related matters.
  • Provides oversight of government regulated programs Customs Trade Partners Against Terrorism (CTPAT) and Authorized Economic Operators (OEA).
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting intellectual property assets, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, product tampering, sabotage, or financial loss.
  • Travels frequently, often on short notice. Regularly conducts advance operations and develops, implements, and audits internally/externally developed security plans. Available on-call for emergencies and be adaptable to constantly evolving schedules which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Due to business continuity demands related to international manufacturing this position requires 24/7 availability.
  • Develops and manages the capital and expense budget for regional security operations.
  • Develops relationships with high-level law enforcement and international counterparts to include in-country security and International Security agencies, intelligence, and private sector counterparts regionally. Briefs Sr. Director of Global Security on the status of security issues.
  • Develops and maintains the ambitious vision, drive the strategy and execution plan of the world-class security culture, awareness, and training program
  • Directs the domestic and international staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes across the region to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of financial, physical, network/information technology and personal risk.
  • Through subordinate managers, coordinate and implement site security, operations, and activities to ensure protection of executives, managers, employees, physical and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.
  • Develops and delivers service in response to criminal financial loss, counterfeiting, crimes against persons, sabotage, threats, emergencies, illegal acts, and property or environmental crimes.
  • Accountable for state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard the organization's assets and correct security vulnerabilities.
  • Develops standards and policies regionally for compliance with government rules, regulations, laws, and treaties regarding security requirements for import and export of products.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (such as Manufacturing, Information Technology, Engineering, Product & Program Management, HR, Risk & Compliance other departments) to address concerns within and outside the organization. Work in developing strategies to navigate an organizational climate of diverse operational activities and often-conflicting regulations imposed by agencies with regulatory jurisdiction.

Your qualifications

Required:
  • Master's degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position with over 10 years’ experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public service or private sector security organization; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position and more than 15’ years’ experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience and exposure in the international security arena.
  • Must have a Professional Working Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.
  • Requires 25% to 50% travel, some international travel (Mexico).
