Quality Technician I – M-F 1st and 3rd Shift

$21.30 with shift differentials!

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Performs quality testing of products including mixing, processing, packaging, and warehouse handling.

· Maintains records including raw material specifications, finished product specifications and COAs.

· Evaluates performance of production processes.

· Directs plant personnel in solving production problems, including formulation adjustments and changes.

· Evaluates organoleptic properties (taste) of products by tasting and smelling the products and visually evaluating color and appearance.

· Performs quality testing during mixing and processing, directing corrections to mix errors.

· Inspects packaging for fill, labeling, coding and integrity.

· Enters test results in QA database.

· Performs routine inspections.

· Monitors HACCP compliance as directed.

· Conducts SSOP audits.

· Data entry as needed.

· Supports plant SQF Program by monitoring and verifying all quality and food safety checks as directed.

· Provides back up to other technicians

· Assists with Sensory Program

· Performs assigned Sensory Evaluations/Shelf Life Testing

· Assists with customer complaint investigations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, secondary education a plus

· 1-3 years of experience

· SQF Practitioner Certification preferred

· OSHA Compliant preferred

· HACCP Certification preferred

• Work experience in food manufacturing is preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication and math skills required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Access
• Periodic lifting of up to 30 lbs., pushing and pulling on occasion.
• May require standing for a period of 8 hours or more in a day

· May require overtime work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $21.30 per hour
