LOCATION: Paschal Sherman Indian School, Omak, WA
Basic Functions: The technology instructor at Paschal Sherman Indian School is the person who is directly responsible for planning and implementing a course of instructional designed to aid each student he/she is assigned to meet the schools goals and objectives for their assigned grade level and/or courses. The teacher is responsible for helping students meet both cognitive and affective objectives. In order to meet these objectives, the teacher may be assigned to extra class duty assignments as they are needed on an individual basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- Master's Degree as well as student teaching and/or classroom teaching experience in instructional technology.
- Must possess a current valid Washington State Teaching Certificate for Kindergarten through eighth grade.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License, eligible for Tribal License.
- Obtain First Aid/CPR card within 30 working days
- Requires submission of proof of Degree, Transcripts, Certifications, and three written letters of recommendation upon applying.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Apps for Education.
- Proficient in the use of Student Assessments.
- Proficiency in the use of the Mac OS and Chrome OS.
- Proficiency in the use of interactive SMART Boards and the SMART Notebook applications suite.
- Basic network operating principles.
- Experience in a variety of computer science and web-based programming languages. (preferred)
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Effective time management and organizational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills; positive attitude a must.
- Effective team member, able to collaborate with collegues
- Initiative, flexibility and the ability to work independently;
- The ability to quickly acquire new knowledge regarding technology;
- The ability to design and deliver technology-enhanced instruction.
- Willing to participate in other classrooms as needed.
- Requires strict confidentiality.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
