Overview of Role
The Front Office Manager oversees all front of house duties, manages the reception and dining teams and ensures all functions are operating efficiently and smoothly. This role is also responsible for overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of the office space and conference center, and office space management and planning. The position is in our NY office and is a full-time on-premise position. This position reports to the Director of Property and Corporate Services.
Responsibilities
- Manage the reception and dining teams by ensuring that all requests are being responded to promptly and all interactions with visitors and clients are handled in a professional manner. Manage all scheduling.
- Manage day porter – oversee, schedule and coordinate intra day activities; coordinate schedule for conference room preparations with reception/dining
- Design, manage, and budget for office dining and snack requirements. Develop surveys in response to feedback
- Facilities Management – ensure all client and staff areas are in good repair. Schedule vendor maintenance and repairs.
- Space Management - Responsible for space management, overseeing current and future seating requirements, and overseeing and coordinating office moves
- Operations - Proactively review and improve policies and procedures, ensure documentation is maintained
- Identify and implement new systems as required
Education and Qualifications
- College degree in business, hospitality or other equivalent degree preferred
Experience, Skills and Competencies Required
- Several years of prior experience in a similar role managing Reception and “Front of House” teams.
- Prior relevant experience in a corporate environment, preferably financial services
- Strong service-orientation, detail-oriented and organizational skills
- Polite and positive demeanour
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer aptitude with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new technology as needed
- Ability to understand business requirements, be proactive and think strategically
- Experience in vendor management
- Dependable and detail-oriented
- Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding client environment
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize activities
- Flexibility for working hours
- Proactive self-starter with the desire to continuously improve procedures and processes
Expected base salary rates for this role in our New York Office will be between $90,000 and $110,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, salary offers are determined on an individualized basis and are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience and education. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and our Rothschild & Co employee benefits package, successful candidates may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
