The Packaging Associate position is a key position in the production and shipping of high quality, safe pet food.
This role performs many duties on the Packaging Line and within the warehouse as directed by the Packaging Line Lead or the Shift Manager. They are responsible for the manual Packaging and Palletizing of product, applying shipping labels and stretch wrap while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. (new palletizer added July 2022 eliminating manual palletizing on the main packaging line)

What will be your key responsibilities?
- Principle accountabilities:
1. Rotate through the various functions on the Packaging Line during the Shift.
a. Manual Bag Hanging and Filling
b. Gusset folding
c. Manual Palletizing (one of two lines, main line has a palletizer as of July 2022)
d. Stretch wrapping and shipping label application (one of two lines, main line has a palletizer as of July 2022)
1. Inspect packaging quality to ensure the packaging meets Mars expectations.
2. Inspect product while filling the bag to ensure the quality meets Mars Standards.
3. Ensure the date code is accurate and being applied.
4. Hand palletize as per the Customer’s Specifications and expectations. (one of two lines, main line has a palletizer as of July 2022)
5. Ensure that filled bags that are rejected for metal are maintained in the proper area until inspected and the reject is noted on the appropriate paperwork.
6. Remove damaged bags from pallets and repair as necessary.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
8. Know and practice all Safety and GMP requirements in assigned work areas.
9. Perform Packaging Line Changeovers.
10. Plant start up and shut down procedures.
11. Adhere to all plant policies and adapt to changes as assigned.
12. All others duties as assigned.

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift ,12 hour shifts
- Days 4am-4:30pm or nights 4p,-4:30am
- A & B shift – A shift works Monday, Tuesday, off Wednesday, Thursday, works Friday, Saturday, Sunday on week 1 then off Monday, Tuesday, works Wednesday, Thursday, off Friday, Saturday, Sunday on week 2) (B shift is on opposite schedule
- Work every other weekend with 3 days off every other weekend
