New Product Development Engineer II Job at Howmet Aerospace
This role will provide engineering support for ongoing and new operations by performing the following duties.
- Design and develop new aerospace fastener products, such as self-locking wrenchable-type nuts as well as sheet metal nuts, assemblies and channels
- Develop and provide engineering supports for fluid fittings, lock rings, expandable diameter fasteners and lock rings
- Involvement in all aspects of testing and preparation of test data
- Oversee qualification testing and prepare qualification reports, such as Process Control Documents (PCD) and Supplier Industrial Dossier (SID) in accordance with customer requirements
- Prepare cost estimate for customer quotes
- Work with internal and external customers to create sales and manufacturing drawings
- Ensure product manufacturability and plan cost-effective manufacturing methods
- Manufacturing planning and router preparation for flow of product from drawing release to completion of the parts
- Plan methods that includes manufacturing operations, processing, testing, and any other applicable operation
- Provide technical support to assure the compliance of proper manufacturing methods
- Work with Quality and Manufacturing to solve shop floor problems
- Participate in Statistical Process Analysis
- Work closely with quality for testing
- Assists in planning, and authorized re-work operations
- Participate in external technical committees such as NASC, SAE/E25, and ALMA/IFI
- Work with manufacturing, tooling, etc. to reduce manufacturing costs, and cycle times
- Support Engineering and Quality with audits such as AS9100, Nadcap, Customer Product Audit and Internal Audits
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer the bachelor’s degree is in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Syteline and/or QA
Benefits/Salary:
The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $67,000 to $101,000.
