Job Summary and Qualifications

What you should expect to do in this role:

• You will monitor patient’s ECG waveforms, ETCO2 and continuous pulse oximetry from a centralized monitoring room.
• You will support nursing personnel with this continuous observation.
• You will be watching for subtle monitor and parameter changes that may occur prior to critical events.
• You will immediately alert the RN of alarms or parameter changes.

What qualifications you will need for this role:

• Successful completion of a basic ECG Arrhythmia course required
• Current BLS certification by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, required
• One year of healthcare experience required
• Acute Care Unit Secretary, Paramedic, EMT and / or cardiac monitoring experience preferred
• Sufficient knowledge of medical and technical terms to accurately transcribe physician orders and complete requisitions
• Demonstrate ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, heart rate, ETCO2, SpO2, and arrhythmias
