Join our team of medical professionals at Allied Healthcare! Allied Healthcare is a psychiatry office that specializes in addiction medicine with one location in North Canton, Ohio. We seek a PART-TIME skilled and experienced Medical Office Front Desk Receptionist to join our team.
We are looking for an exceptional team player with outstanding communication skills, strong attention to quality and detail, good computer/customer database and excel skills, and a commitment and passion to provide the finest patient experience in a busy office setting.
Job Description
The Front Desk Receptionist is the face of Allied Healthcare, the first person patients see when entering the office. A successful Front Desk Receptionist will be accountable for maintaining professionalism in all verbal interactions with patients and family members, physician office staff, and related outside agencies. Greet patients in a warm, friendly, and compassionate manner. Will perform other clerical duties pertaining to the operation of the office. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Include and are not limited to):
- Greeting patients in a friendly, positive, upbeat attitude
- Collecting co-pay and past due balance and batching payment (Advanced MD)
- Posting payments to patient accounts (Advanced MD)
- Managing patient flow in the office
- Scheduling of patient appointments for multiple providers
- Revise daily schedules for cancellations or “No Shows” and advise other appropriate clinical staff of changes in a timely manner
- Ability to think ahead and forecast scheduling
- Answer all office calls, scheduling, answering questions for patients
- Manage Communications with patients via email, phone, & mail.
- Scan, upload and enter patient data into Electronic Health Record (Practice Fusion)
- Complete new patient registrations
- Complete new patient intake information
- Forward patient information for insurance verification
- Prepares patient charts
- Communicating with various pharmacies regarding prescription follow-up
- Scans, copies, and files charts and records
- Coordination of medical record requests
- Assisting patients with setup for telemedicine visits
- Request prior authorizations
- Confirms new patient appointments
- Treat peers, superiors, subordinates, patients and vendors with fairness, courtesy & professionalism and contribute to the overall positive work environment of the office
- All employees of Allied Healthcare are required to function within the policies and procedures, meet the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook, and adhere to the code of conduct set forth by the company

Minimum Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
Experience/Skills:
- 1 year experience in same or similar position within a medical office setting
- Experience specifically in mental health and/or addiction services - a bonus but not required
- Ability to operate office equipment (copy machine, fax, & computer)
- Demonstrated ability to operate MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Internet
- Ability to utilize a computer system to perform data entry and generate reports
- Knowledge of medical terminology and common medical office clerical procedures, including computerized billing and accounts payable systems
- Excellent telephone and written/verbal skills
- Good computer and excel skills are a must
- Thrive and enjoy a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking
- Compassionate in working with vulnerable patients requiring supportive and judgment-free interactions with staff
- Comfortable working in a tight-knit environment, teamwork is essential
- Ability to conform to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to describe yourself as someone who demonstrates accountability, honesty, & integrity
Experience Summary:
- Medical Office: 1 year (Preferred)
- Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
- Google G-Suite 1 year (Preferred, but not required)
- Advanced MD: 1 year (Preferred, but not required)
Work Location: One Location
Software Used: Advanced MD and Practice Fusion
Schedule: Monday to Friday (with every other Friday off because office is closed)
