Manufacturing and Design Engineer

Role Summary: Manufacturing and designing industry leading fabric covered building solutions to improve and expand product offering. This role will be responsible for leading the transition to in-sourcing the manufacturing of our building solutions. This role will be working cross departmentally with production, sales, marketing, purchasing, shipping and providing input to ownership on all aspects of product development and production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop manufacturing capabilities and processes to support in house production
- Design fabric covered building solutions with modularity and manufacturing as primary drivers
- Drive sales by providing models, templates, and other tools for website and sales team.
- Creating shop drawings using 3D drawing software (On-Shape)
- Researching and creating better drawing solutions and best practices
- Create processes for production floor to improve design efficiencies and production, Designing jigs/fixtures, etc.
- Calculations for loads on superstructures, thermals for insulations, etc.
- Continuous improvement projects

Qualifications:
- 3D parametric modeling capability, OnShape software knowledge a plus
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Deep understanding of tubing, truss, and structural steel fabrication.
- New product design experience and knowledge a plus
- Creative and process oriented
- Willingness to be hands-on
- Proactive and self-motivated in accomplishing tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to details
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s in Engineering + 3 years in manufacturing engineering; parametric modeling experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
