Lead Coach - Elementary Recess Sports Coach Job at ASSIST Programs
You will be working across Elementary Schools in Elk Grove Unified School District. The job begins immediately and runs throughout the school year. You will be working at various school sites Tuesday through Thursday for a 4-hour window. Work hours fall between 9:00 am- 2:30 pm. There may be future opportunities for additional hours depending on shift availability. You will be directly working with elementary school students facilitating a fun school program based on character development and activities. ie: You will run a kickball game, teaching integrity and pausing throughout to make sure the students are behaving and having fun.
Assist Programs works with elementary schools to influence tens of thousands kids on a daily basis and we need your help! We are looking for highly motivated individuals who love playing sports and activities and want career experience working with children to join our team as Lead Coaches. You will facilitate fun, safe, and structured activities in align with our curriculum that is provided on a daily basis. At times, you will need to provide help, training, and tips to new staff members to help with their performance. Lead Coaches communicate with the schools and relay any important messages to their district leaders. We're looking for individuals who have great communication skills, leadership qualities, and are responsible/reliable. Most important of all, you will have the opportunity to be a role model/mentor for our youth!
There will be an in person orientation and on-going onsite training. Additionally, there are always opportunities for more work hours and promotions based on performance.
Job Duties are as follows:
- Travels to client, school or meeting sites as required for program or administrative need. Reliable transportation is required.
- Arrives promptly at site to meet with ASSIST staff to prep for assignments and lessons.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.
- Arrives to all site/company shifts and meetings in company compliant dress code.
- Using company time recording methods for payroll purposes.
- Organizes structured activities for students and integrates character education per ASSIST Team curriculum.
- Guides a group of up to 40 students in an indoor/outdoor setting, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety.
- Develops an environment of openness for the students that is welcoming and inviting.
- Encourages students to make positive behavioral choices and following school structure at all times.
- Works and gets along with staff, teachers, school administration, parents and volunteers as appropriate.
- Ensures student safety is utmost priority and complies with site and ASSIST Team procedure and policy.
- Demonstrates leadership, respect, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding information about staff, student and volunteer information and matters.
- Attends and engages in staff development campaigns, projects and activities.
- Consistently demonstrates the gold standard of ASSIST.
- Communicates daily in Discord messaging app.
- Participates in monthly and annual self-reviews.
- Uses company clock in/out procedure.
- Trains new staff following our training protocol.
- Reports to District Leader and Upper Management daily.
- Actively looking to influence new staff members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of personal experience with sports; privately or in a school program.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (listening, interpersonal, oral, and written).
- Excellent ability to prioritize, organize work; manage multiple groups of students and responsibilities.
- Intermediate proficiency with internet search engines, messaging and timekeeping apps.
- A high degree of professionalism, confidence and flexibility that allows the incumbent to work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- High level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
