Description

The position is responsible for the strategic management of technology-related hardware and licensed software within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, auditing, and recording hardware and software licenses to ensure compliancy with County policies and procedures. The individual will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization and will also develop and implement procedures for tracking assets to oversee quality control throughout the lifecycle. This position is responsible for stocking materials, purchase requests and all other storage/warehouse activities.


**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

**Additional compensation based on licensure.

Essential Functions

Formulates and implements processes, procedures and systems for tracking and analyzing software, hardware, and equipment from requisition through retirement and disposal.

Collaborate with IS team members, other departments, and leadership for the assignments of IT hardware and related products.

Develop and conduct training as needed for use by department level staff to maintain inventory.

Manage acquisition of assets from planning through deployment.

Report to IS management on lifecycles due dates to include budgetary assessments of purchase requests and submissions.

Reports on purchasing, installation, commissioning, maintenance contracts, upgrades, modifications, configuration details, and decommissioning / disposals.

Verify, enter, track, and adjust equipment IT asset management data within the work order system while maintaining records regarding licenses, refresh date, warranties, and service agreements on hardware and software.

Establish metrics and reporting for asset compliance.

Conduct physical inventory and compliance reports to ensure accuracy.

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); plus, a minimum of 3 years of prior IT Asset Management experience.

A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Additional Requirements

Knowledge of business asset management, property control, logistics or warehousing processes, policies, and techniques; skill in planning, organizing, and coordinating.

Ability to organize and prioritize, tasks that involve complicated and varied procedures or work methods, permitting reasonable initiative and independent judgment to meet established deadlines; and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.

Skill in strong analytical & problem-solving.

Ability to partner well with cross-functional teams.

Ability to be highly organized with attention to detail and strong sense of stewardship.

Ability to understand, follow and supervise written and oral instructions.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with all levels of management, employees, other departments, officials, and the public; skill in the principles and techniques of customer service skills.

Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications in Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be proficient at Excel at an intermediate level, advanced level is preferred.

Skill in preparing complex correspondence, summaries and reports in a clear and concise manner; skill in business English, e.g., correspondence formats, spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Skill in performing routine mathematical computations and tabulations accurately and efficiently.

Skill in reading, updating and maintaining various records and files; skill in complex administrative support functions, e.g., records maintenance, data analysis, reports processing, documentation proofing.

Work requires a high degree of teamwork, coordination with customer departments, independent judgment, initiative, and a positive attitude.

Must be able to learn new concepts quickly and resolve problems effectively.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license.
