Job Summary

Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist position is responsible for the administration and management of the company health benefit plans, Worker's Compensation program, and Leave of Absences. The position also provides guidance to managers with general employee relations issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monthly maintenance of Unemployment/Leave of Absence/Workers Comp Logs/OSHA 300 Log
  • Administer and track Leave of Absences, including EDD Disability, Paid Family Leave and Paid Parental Leave claims
  • Administer and monitor Worker's Compensation claims
  • Administration of benefits plan enrollment to include eligibility notification, auditing enrollment information for accuracy, point of contact for insurance carriers, address system benefit feed errors from Payroll to carrier systems, answering all employee questions regarding benefits, and addressing questions from carrier representatives.
  • Provide assistance to managers with general employee relations issues.
  • Answer employee 401k plan questions.
  • Keep current and knowledgeable on all Action HR policies, procedures, compliance issues, forms and documentation


Requirements


  • A minimum of 2 years of experience handling Worker's Compensation, Leaves of Absences, and Benefits Enrollment
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm. Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Team player with an upbeat and positive attitude. Ability to interface with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Comfortable speaking effectively before groups of employees.
  • Service-oriented personality with strong follow-up.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality to include HIPAA, PMI, and other personal information
  • Self-starter demonstrating strong organization and time management skills.
