About the Financial Communications Organization:

The Financial Communications team has broad responsibility for developing and executing communications on the company’s financial performance and position in the context of macro and industry performance. The team promotes collaboration and uses of best practices across FP&A content to a variety of internal and external audiences.

The Opportunity

As a Consultant in Financial Communications, you will work in a fast paced, innovative and collaborative environment, in partnership with several other teams at MassMutual, including Treasury, Controllers, Actuarial, Strategic Finance Business Partners, broader FP&A, Corporate Communications, and Executive leadership to support a best-in-class communications team.

The Team
The Financial Communications Consultant is an individual contributor to the Financial Communications organization, which is a dynamic team of individuals with diverse backgrounds that are focused on:

• Direct and refine key FP&A processes, including coordination of key deliverables and related communications in support of messaging for key internal and external stakeholders
• Lead the development of strategic timelines of key FP&A deliverables by working collaboratively across the Finance organization
• Actively manage the FP&A deliverables process, prioritize competing responsibilities, and coordinate across teams and with other key stakeholders
• Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team to ensure consistency and alignment of all internal communications across FP&A and broader CFO
• Support the development of financial presentation materials for key stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging for MassMutual across FP&A
• Foster a continuous improvement mindset and champion innovation Serving as an important contact for development of financial messaging and related analytics
• Ensuring insightful, compelling, unified storytelling, that is timely and transparent, in support of MassMutual’s financial performance
• Developing an effective financial dialogue between executive leadership and internal / external stakeholders
  
  

The Impact

• Provides a strong connection point between the different aspects of the FP&A organization and improves the efficiencies of information sharing
• Directs effective communications with key internal audiences in support of MassMutual’s financial performance
• Collaborates closely with various internal teams to educate and inform key stakeholders through financial messaging, and to strengthen relationships

The Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience with a track record of increasing responsibility
• BA or BS in business, economics, finance, accounting or actuarial science
• Extensive knowledge and experience with MS office tools (Outlook. PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

The Ideal Qualifications

• Life insurance industry knowledge
• Experience with planning tools such as Microsoft Planner and Confluence
• Experience working in a Finance transformational setting; driving change and managing competing priorities
• Experience using Think Cell or other financial presentation tools
• Detail-oriented with demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional groups
• Strong analytical, time management and problem-solving skills
