The Job:

As a Engineer - Mechanical you'll be part of your Global Tools ans Storage team, located in Towson MD. You'll get to:

Aid in the product development of innovative and user preferred professional power tools

• Collaborate with Project Engineer, Designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver functioning designs and key areas on a power tool
• Develop and refine concepts, prototypes and/or specifications to solve given challenges
• Design components and complete unit layouts using a 3D CAD system
• Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers. Utilizing experience and cross-functional interaction to deliver solutions that are innovative, manufacturable, and cost effective
• Interview end users and work efficiently with team members to meet project needs
• Investigate design issues and test failures and effectively drive corrective actions
• Understand and be able to apply calculations (Stackup analysis, Spring Design, Press fits...)

The Person:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Engineer position requires 1+ years experience in development role or related field
• Understanding of core manufacturing processes - injection molding, die casting, machining, gearing, sheet metal, forgings, powdered metal, etc.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, Hands on abilities
• Basic understanding of material properties (ferrous & non-ferrous, polymer, heat treatment) and the ability to suggest the right material & process based on performance & cost deliverables.
