Robert Half is looking to find a talented, efficient AP & AR Specialist to join an esteemed organization in the Manufacturing industry. The responsibilities of a AP & AR Specialist entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Amherst, New Hampshire area, the company offering this challenging short-term contract/contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.

Major responsibilities

• Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
• Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
• Participate in the month-end, quarter end and year-end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
• Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
• Participate in various department-wide initiatives
• Carry out month-end close, journal entries, without supervision
• Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
• Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
• Great attention to detail
• Recent and relevant accounting experience
• Competent with spreadsheets and databases
• Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
• Accounts Payable (AP) experience
• Billing experience
• Reconciliations experience
• Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Skilled with ERP systems
• Skilled in analytical, quantitative, and social skills
• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
